Hanon Maruyama (Cofounder)
Hanon Maruyama is a junior in high school, she moved from Japan at the age of 12 and initally struggled with language barriers and adjusting. Now she dreams of making new immigrants feel supported. In her free time she enjoys playing the piano, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends.
Max Geiger (Cofounder)
Max Geiger is a junior in highschool, he was adopted from Taiwan as a baby and has grown up trying to reconnect with his heritage. He dreams of assisting people who are struggling feel disconnected with the world. In his free time he enjoys cooking, playing tennis, and exploring Los Angeles.
Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF)
Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) was founded to help address domestic violence and sexual assault in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
Our mission is to build healthy and safe communities by addressing the root causes and consequences of family violence and violence against women. We are committed to meeting the specific cultural and language needs of Asian and Pacific Islander women and their families.
Our vision is of an Asian and Pacific Islander community that embraces healthy relationships and works in partnership with other communities to eradicate all forms of violence.
Koreatown Youth + Community Center (KYCC)
KYCC (Koreatown Youth and Community Center) was established in 1975 to support a growing population of at-risk youth in Los Angeles. Today, KYCC is the leading multiservice organization in Koreatown, supporting children and their families in the areas of education, health, housing, and finances. We believe that if the family is healthy, our community will thrive. KYCC is committed to making Koreatown a safe and beautiful place to live and work.
The mission of KYCC is to serve the evolving needs of the Korean American population in the greater Los Angeles area as well as the multiethnic Koreatown community. KYCC’s programs and services are directed toward recently immigrated, economically disadvantaged youth and families, and promote community socioeconomic empowerment.
